Book Reviews
Kenny and the Dragon by Tony DiTerlizzi
Kenny and the Dragon has sat upon my shelf for a few weeks, begging to be heard. Once pulled off the shelf, I was captivated
from the first sentence. With a bit of "The Wind in the Willows" meets the Good Luck dragon from "The Never Ending Story", Kenny and his desire for a
friend tugs at the heart, yet avoids the sappiness so many stories carry.

Kenny Rabbit, blessed with simple yet wise parents (finally!), likes to read and study. As a result, he doesn't quite fit in with the others
in town. Taking life in stride with his romantic and courageous heart, he befriends a dragon, the scourge of society. Will his parents
understand their friendship? Will the town accept the presence of a dragon? Their unlikely friendship sets
hilarious events in motion that will not only change history, but correct history! The best story I have read for kids aged 7 - 12 in many years.

The Indigo King, by James A. Owen

James Owen continues his Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica with a fascinating tale that opens the readers up to the history of the Geographica
- the magical book of maps of imaginary lands. The Caretakers attempt to bring a new member into their secret, but a terrible turn of events causes
him to be lost in an unknown time, and history to be warped in a way that devastates the present. With the aid of friends both new and old, and Jules
Verne's time machine, the caretakers attempt to solve the mysteries of the origins of the Geographica, and set time back on its proper course. This
is the third book in a series of books for ages and 12 and up.
